Lynn is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist with many years of experience. She has delivered diabetes education and nutrition care management within the clinical, academic, and corporate sectors, engaging and inspiring audiences towards wellness. She’s developed compelling materials for presentations, individualized and group counselling sessions, trade shows, exhibits, and tours, communicating clearly and effectively.
As a health care professional, Lynn has had several wonderful and challenging job opportunities; Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, Carteret General Hospital, Morehead City, NC, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC, Mecklenburg Medical Group – Atrium Health (formerly known as Carolinas Health Care System), Charlotte, NC, OurHealth, Charlotte, NC, and Certified V-Go Trainer, Charlotte, NC.
She is a compassionate educator able to support her patients/clients with her kind spirited approach. She believes that motivational interviewing is the key to success. She is a remarkable and dedicated patient educator with a unique ability to connect to her patients. She conveys a genuine interest in each patient and readily establishes a rapport with them. Her dedication and communication with patients are exceptional.
Lynn is a natural leader, and her colleagues value her knowledge and experience as an educator. Her greatest strengths are her integrity, ability to be a strong team player and her commitment to excellence. Anyone who has ever worked with Lynn in the capacity of a colleague, patient/client, friend, or family member knows that her biggest pet peeve is “sugary drinks” and the concern for the significant impact they have on blood glucose control and weight management.
Lynn is an active member of the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). She has been on the Board of Directors for the local chapters of ADCES; President Elect and President, Piedmont Area of Diabetes Educators (PARADE), Winston-Salem, NC for 1 year and Program Chair, Metrolina Association of Diabetes Educators (MADE), Charlotte, NC for 4 years.
Lynn grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and is a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoys spending quality time with her friends, family and betta fish. She loves to cook, listen to R&B and gospel music, travel and stay physically active to keep her mind, body and soul healthy.
