Often, amidst the holiday cheer, our well-intentioned health goals take a back seat, with promises of a healthier lifestyle deferred to the New Year. However, what if we instead considered the present moment as the perfect opportunity to gift ourselves the start of a healthier and more nourishing journey? LWell presents “Gift Yourself Health: A Pre-New Year’s Resolution Challenge.” On December 3, we’ll embark on a journey together, exploring mindful eating, hydration, nutrient-rich meals, and daily movement. As your Healthy Lifestyle Gurus, our aim is to guide and support you in making gradual, sustainable changes that contribute to your overall well-being. Let’s embrace this season not as a challenge, but as a gift—a gift of health to ourselves. Are you ready to unwrap the possibilities? This 21-day challenge can be a great way to adopt healthier habits. Build a healthy framework by gradually adding new habits each week. Let’s get started! Follow us on Facebook as we post more tips and recipes beginning December 3rd for 21 days. Share your experience by using #LWell21DayChallenge on your social media posts. Week 1: Mindful Eating and Hydration Day 1-3: Mindful Morning Routine Tip: Start your day with deep breathing or a short meditation. Focus on the present moment before diving into your daily activities. Day 4-7: Hydration Challenge Tip: Carry a reusable water bottle and set hourly goals for water intake. Infuse your water with citrus slices, cucumber, or mint for a refreshing twist. Week 2: Nutrient-Rich Eating Day 8-10: Colorful Plate Challenge Tip: Aim to include at least three different colors in each meal. For breakfast, try a berry and spinach smoothie. For lunch, a vibrant salad with mixed vegetables, and for dinner, a stir-fry with a variety of colorful veggies. Day 11-14: Whole Foods Challenge Tip: Choose whole, unprocessed foods. Snack on fresh fruit, nuts, or veggies with hummus. For a meal, try grilled chicken or tofu with quinoa and a side of roasted vegetables. Week 3: Move Your Body Day 15-17: Daily Movement Habit Tip: Incorporate a daily 20-minute walk into your routine. Use a fitness app for guided home workouts or try a quick yoga session. Day 18-20: Try Something New Tip: Explore a new physical activity. Attend a dance class, try an online Pilates session, or experiment with a different type of workout each day. Day 21: Reflection and Goal Setting Tip: Reflect on your journey over the past 20 days. Celebrate achievements, whether big or small. Set realistic health goals for the upcoming year, focusing on habits you’ve enjoyed during the challenge.
