Meal planning and cooking can be a challenge for people affected by ADHD. This is because cooking requires executive function, planning, organizing and working memory. Frustrated, you may decide to order in or eat out rather than cook at home.

For example, if you struggle with ADHD and cooking to you feels like a strenuous task, you can make the experience more enjoyable by listening to your favorite music, letting a TV show or YouTube video play in the background, or talking with a friend on the phone while cooking. Finding quick, easy-to-assemble meals with clear instructions can help, too.
